The International Process and Performance Institute bases certification on the ability of the individual to prove they understand how to use the techniques and methods for each Certification we provide. We believe that competency-based Certification is the most appropriate and beneficial form of certification for the specialist professional skills we certify.

What is Competency-Based Certification?

There are many forms that can be used in a certification process. Common forms include:

  1. Question-answer testing with preset scooring levels.
  2. Multiple milestones to be met such as documented experience hours, recommendations, and project synopses.
  3. Approved credits from an educational institution or training provider.

The International Process and Performance Institute uses a competency-based model for our certification, one based on the demonstration of the techniques and methods covered by each certification against real world case studies.

How do I get my Certification from an IPAPI Instructor-led course?

Attend the class – and be prepared to work! Your in-class hands-on case study activities will ensure you know how to employ the techniques and methods of the class.

Our instructor-led courses devote over 50% of class time to hands-on exercises. Every IPAPI instructor-led course is delivered by an IPAPI Certified Coach. IPAPI Certified Coaches are adept at observing and interacting with course participants to ensure those attending our courses gain a solid working knowledge of the techniques and methods we teach.

How do I get my Certification from the IPAPI online training?

While our instructor-led courses give us the opportunity to directly observe your work in the classroom our online training does not. To meet this challenge we have developed a pattern testing algorithm for use against an additional set of real world case studies you must work through in the testing part of the online training system.

Because we know there are many variations in how each individual will perceive a given process and we know the application result patterns from our techniques, we are able to assess each person’s competency individually. This ensures we have assessed their real understanding of how to employ the included techniques to achieve organizational success.
